FAQWhat are the general responsibilities / expectations of being a mentor?
What are the general responsibilities / expectations of being a mentee?
What is the time commitment? You would meet for a minimum of three sessions up to a maximum of six sessions over the course of the calendar year. It can be broken down in whatever way you as “partners” determine will work best, but it’s usually about one to two hours for each of the three meet-ups. This is a minimum. What will be the basis for the pairings?Shared interests / goals for the mentorship and applicable expertise will be considered first and foremost. We recognize that mentorships work well in in-person settings and attempts will be made to match mentors / mentees in the same locale. However, we also support virtual mentorships, particularly for our Members located outside of Toronto and Montreal. Would the meetings be in-person or virtual? We recognize that mentorships work well in in-person settings and attempts will be made to match mentors / mentees in the same locale. However, we also support virtual mentorships, particularly for our Members located outside of Toronto and Montreal. What if I’m asked to mentor more than one mentee? If you have more than one mentee, we ask that you organize separate meet-ups for each of them. This will ensure that all participants get the "one-on-one" time that is such a huge part of this program. |
"Being part of the CTAM mentorship program has been an invaluable experience. I learned a lot from my mentor as they shared their insights, guidance and perspective on various industry topics. This helped me to build confidence and accelerate my growth in a fast paced and ever-changing environment. I found the pairing process to be effective as my mentor and I had quite a bit in common both personally and professionally. This relationship has truly made a significant impact on my career. I would recommend this program to anyone looking to network with others in the entertainment industry and gain valuable insights that they can then apply to their own career. I can’t recommend it enough!"
