Mentorship Program

• Mentors should value learning, have an eagerness to invest in and develop others, be active listeners, practice empathy, come prepared - and excited! - to share their professional learnings.
• Committing a minimum of three sessions up to a maximum of six sessions over the course of the rest of the year.
• Think about your professional legacy and share your industry knowledge and contacts
• Grow and develop professionally

• Scheduling recurring meetings with your mentor.
• Committing a minimum of three sessions up to a maximum of six sessions over the course of the rest of the year.
• Prior to each meeting, creating an agenda summarizing the topic(s) you would like to cover.
• Set next steps at the end of each discussion and clarify responsibilities.
• Following each meeting, send a note to your mentor describing how you benefitted from the
• conversation.

You would meet for a minimum of three sessions up to a maximum of six sessions over the course of the calendar year. It can be broken down in whatever way you as “partners” determine will work best, but it’s usually about one to two hours for each of the three meet-ups. This is a minimum.

Shared interests / goals for the mentorship and applicable expertise will be considered first and foremost. We recognize that mentorships work well in in-person settings and attempts will be made to match mentors / mentees in the same locale. However, we also support virtual mentorships, particularly for our Members located outside of Toronto and Montreal.
